….Presidential campaign council says 3-day warning strike exposes hardship under APC, questions Tinubu’s second-term bid.

The Makinde/Daura Presidential Campaign Organisation (MDPCO) has said the three-day warning strike declared by organised labour is a clear sign of growing anger over President Bola Tinubu’s economic policies.

In a statement on Sunday, the campaign’s Director of Strategic Communication, Richard Ihediwa, said the strike — called over workers’ welfare and the high cost of living — shows the level of hardship Nigerians are going through under the All Progressives Congress (APC) government.

Ihediwa described the industrial action as the fallout of “ill-conceived and poorly implemented” economic decisions.

According to him, the demands contained in Labour’s Charter have exposed the disconnect between the government’s claims of economic progress and the daily reality of workers.

He called the warning strike “a direct referendum on a failed government” and questioned how the Tinubu administration could seek a second term.”How can a government that failed to shield its citizens from the consequences of its policies, credibly ask the same citizens to renew its mandate?” he asked.

The MDPCO also faulted the government for delays in implementing the capital budget, repeated rollover of budgets, rising debt, lack of transparency, and what it called unfulfilled promises after fuel subsidy removal.

Ihediwa said while the government celebrates reforms, ordinary Nigerians have yet to feel any real improvement in their lives.”When wages lose value, the cost of living keeps rising and workers barely survive, government statistics and celebratory claims become meaningless,” he said.

The campaign organisation called for reforms that put citizens first, including transparent safety nets to protect livelihoods.

It added that the Makinde/Daura ticket, contesting under the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), is offering an alternative through its “RESET Nigeria Agenda” — which it described as a people-focused, data-driven plan built on production, security, inclusion and accountability.

The group said more Nigerians across party lines are identifying with Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and his running mate, Musa Daura, ahead of the 2027 election, and urged voters to use the poll to demand a government that can restore stability and make the economy work for all.
