…Oyo APC guber hopeful alleges arbitrary sale of state assets to cronies, demands transparency
IBADAN — A governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Oyo State, Alli, has warned Governor Seyi Makinde to desist from further sale or allocation of government lands to private individuals and developers.

Alli, in a statement signed by the Director of his campaign organisation, Bisi Oladele, on Tuesday, expressed worry over what he described as arbitrary sale and allocation of public lands by the state government.

Describing the situation as disturbing, the APC chieftain said government holds the mandate to expand state assets, not fritter them away to cronies.

“It is a worrisome situation where it is the same government that is selling off the state’s assets and infrastructure,” he said.

Alli added: “Governor Makinde has a duty to preserve the assets of Oyo State for the benefit of its people.”

He demanded an immediate halt to any contemplated sale or allocation of Cheshire Home land to private developers and insisted that all transactions involving public assets must be subjected to the highest standards of transparency and accountability.
