President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima are set to spend a whopping #6.1 billion on foreign trips in 2026, according to the 2026 Appropriation Bill before the National Assembly. Breaking it down, the Presidency has allocated #6.14 billion for international travel, while the Vice President’s office gets #1.31 billion for foreign trips. These allocations are part of the #8.38 billion and #2.64 billion proposed for State House Operations for the President and Vice President, respectively.
Interestingly, the Presidency is also investing #7 billion in solarising the Presidential Villa in Abuja, aiming to reduce reliance on the national grid. This brings the total spent on the Aso Villa solar project to #17 billion within two years, amidst persistent power outages nationwide
