Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort has officially taken the reins of Interlink, gaining full control of Spanish football club Atlético Berja. The takeover, effective January 29, 2026 marks a major move and a significant milestone in Ilaji’s global sports and hospitality expansion. The takeover led to a new board of directors being appointed at an Extraordinary General Assembly at Berja’s Salva Sevilla Municipal Stadium.
The newly elected board includes:
- President: Dotun Jubril Sanusi
- Vice President: Adesina Araoye
- Secretary: Divine Sanusi
- Treasurer: Dr. Justin Fenech
Ilaji plans to boost Atlético Berja’s sports structure, youth development, and community engagement in Andalusia, aligning with its mission to promote sports excellence and international collaboration.
The outgoing board is handing over documents, with regulatory compliance underway. Ilaji’s acquisition opens a new chapter for Atlético Berja, focusing on growth and community impact.
