Her 23-year-old boyfriend has been arrested in connection with her murder. According to police, the suitcase was concealed underground, indicating an attempt to hide the crime. Forensic teams are processing evidence, and Mchunu’s body is undergoing a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death. The suspect faces charges of murder and defeating the ends of justice, with additional charges possible as investigations continue.
“This is a deeply distressing case,” said a police official. “We extend our condolences to the Mchunu family and assure them that every effort is being made to ensure justice is served” ¹.
