Popular TikToker Peller, whose real name is Habeeb Hamzat, has been arrested and detained by the Lagos State Police Command over an alleged attempted suicide and reckless driving incident.
The 20-year-old was involved in a serious car crash on the Lekki-Epe Expressway while live-streaming on social media, which led to his arrest. The police have confirmed that Peller’s actions were a deliberate attempt to take his own life and posed a grave danger to innocent members of the public.
According to reports, Peller was heard saying “I will use this car and have an accident right now” and “I’m scared” during the live stream, before crashing into a stone barrier. He was immediately hospitalized and is currently in police custody, undergoing investigation.
The Lagos State Police Command has warned social media influencers and content creators against promoting reckless or unlawful acts, stating that such behavior will not be tolerated. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has also ordered Peller’s prosecution for reckless driving, use of phone while driving, and distracted driving.
